YOLO

Hello once again everyone! I don't know if you have heard this saying that was pretty happy. YOLO? Ever heard of it? How do you feel about it? Personally I think its rather stupid. Not because I don't think its true that you only live once and that you shouldn't live it to the fullest. My main problem is how people use it. People will say I'm going to do this because YOLO. Well yeah but should you really be fighting a bear because YOLO? I don't think so. If YOLO then you should hide in a closet until the bear is gone so you don't die and lose that one life you have! You silly silly people.

These people actually made a song about it. I found it rather fun and thought I would share it with you because it expresses my annoyance in a fun musical way.

Well there you go! I hope you enjoyed that little song. I feel like I said this before but YODO, you only die once. Make sure you make it count. Just kidding. Stay classy and make sure you enjoy your life but don't do something stupid just because YOLO.

Nail Polish

How the heck did someone decide to create nail polish? Were they just looking at their nails and thought: "Grrrroooooooossssssss! My nails look so normal...and flesh colored! I wish my nails were like Barbs nails."  I mean what the heck? Why did we suddenly decide that us girls (and some guys) need to make our nails different colors?

I paint my toenails because I think it makes my feet look gross but recently I have been looking at my toenails and thinking that it is really weird. Why do we think that rainbow colored nails are more attractive? I just don't understand.

How did they make nail polish in the first place? Did they randomly take some paint and put it on their nails? Or did they put wrap their fingers except for their nails and then put their fingers in some dye? Like how the heck did the very first prototype (?) of nail polish come into existence? I don't know. Do you?

Why did they decide that they needed to make it super sticky? It's so hard to get the nail polish off of your fingers when it's so sticky! When I'm trying to get it off my nails because it's pretty much gone it takes way too long! And I'm getting a arm/hand work out while I'm scrubbing it off.

Even though the nail polish is super sticky After one stinking day it chips! What the heck?! Don't do that! After like a week all the nail polish will be gone except for on my pinky finger and thumb. How does that work? I'm not sure.

Waiting for the nail polish to dry is also a very annoying part. It takes soooooo looooonnnngggg! Plus if you do a lot of layers you can rub some of it off. Basically it's not completely dry until like 24 hours later. What the heck! I can't tell you how many time I have painted my nails three hours before I go to bed and then when I wake up the next day I have little patterns from my sheets. So confusing.

Sad but true
People need to make an easier way to paint nails. I can paint one hand just fine but once I get to the other hand all my hard work fails. It takes forever and looks terrible. With my uncoordination (not a word, I don't care, you get my meaning) with my non-dominate hand and unintentional girly hand movements because of the nail polish on that hand I just end up failing. Does that make sense?

Whenever I do my nails in my room I always have the nail polish remover. By the time I finish my nails my room smells like nail polish remover and stays that way for the next day. Can we please find a scentless nail polish remover?! That would make me extremely happy.

Okay I admit I got into a little bit of a rant and started to ramble. Now for my final point that I actually wanted to make when I started this post. Why do we feel the need to make our normal colored body parts different colors? Tattoos are the same way but that's a whole different topic. Before you know it we are going to be dying our whole bodies different colors! Wait a minute! Maybe that's why the Capitol people in the Hunger Games had different colored bodies. Weird.

Well there is your rant for the day/week. Stay classy and remember that you don't need to make your body different colors to be beautiful! "You are beautiful in every single way!" (That's a song by Christina Aguilera if you didn't know that called "Beautiful"...and I gave credit to the author so you can't get mad at me!) Don't change yourself because others want you to or to fit in.

Exam Results

So during my English class this last school year my teacher showed me this video. With AP results coming out soon I thought I would share this video with you. Personally I feel like they have taken way to long to get here but now that they are I feel like they caught me off guard.

After we watched the video we had a little discussion about whether or not we let exam results decide our fate. I can't remember exactly what was said but a majority of it was that that focus so much about your grades. If you fail an exam it isn't the end of the world. Something along those line! Let me know what you think in the comments!

I hope I helped a little bit. If I didn't I hope the video did. Stay classy and remember that I believe in you and don't lose hope!

In the future! Nail polish rant, YOLO, fangirling! What could those possibly be about?

Communication (Part 2)

So I kinda forgot about last weeks post...I got a little busy and when I got home I was too exhausted to do anything. Since I feel like communication is really important we are going to continue from the last time I talked about this. So lets get to it!

Have you ever had this conversation?

Parent: "You all packed?"
You: "For what?"
Parent: "We are going on vacation!"
You: "Really? When?"
Parent: "Tomorrow. I told you that."
You: "What?! No you didn't."
Parent: "Sure I did." *walks away*

I don't know if I've had that exact conversation but I have had similar situations. So here's the point I want to make. Make sure you tell people important information. Also even if you tell them that make sure they actually heard you because many times people will be in shock or too tired to understand what you are actually saying. Does that make sense?

I don't know if I told you this but I'm not exactly the best at communicating. For example sometimes I will just make a noise. Just like a squeak or something. No, it's not just when I'm surprised. I will just make a noise to express my feeling. I don't know why it just happens.

In my last communication post I gave an example of a confusing conversation. After I published that post I got to thinking about and found some other confusing parts of it. So let's get into that shall we? We shall.

So this is that conversation:

"What channel is it?"
"What?"
"What channel is it?"
"I don't know what you're looking for."
"I don't know what's on."
"..."

How did you read "What?" That's what I want to know because you can either read it as "What are you talking about" or "What program". Depending on how you say something it can mean something totally different. There was an example of this in Cars. When Lightning McQueen said "Yeah okay" to Sally (the blue car) and she was all like "Well what does that mean?" Do you remember that? No? Darn. Just watch the movie again and you'll see what I'm talking about. After all it is a good movie.

Alright now for the major ranting part of the post. Contractions. You know "it's"," you're", "don't", all those good things. Well I have come to learn that you aren't supposed to use them when writing a paper. Why? Because it doesn't sound as professional. That doesn't make any sense to me. In school we had to learn about how contractions work. It was one of the first things we learned. I don't know about you but I had a whole worksheet on how they worked and what "would" and "not" would combine to become. I probably had a test on it too! It was called phonics. So here's my problem. Why did we learn it if we aren't supposed to use it? It doesn't make any sense!

Okay now for a more serious matter. My pastor actually talked about words on Sunday (which actually reminded me about this post). Anyway he gave an illustration that he really likes and I kinda like to. Okay take a bottle of toothpaste and push all of the toothpaste out. You don't actually have to do this just imagine if you want. Okay now that all the toothpaste is out try to put it back in. How's that going? Not that well? Yeah. That's the point. You can't put the toothpaste back in. If you don't believe me then try it. Think of the toothpaste as words. It is really easy to let all of these words out but its a lot harder to take them back. Just think about the next time you want to say something mean to someone.

Well that's it for this long awaited post (just kidding). I just decided (literally like a minute ago) that at the very very end, so after this little paragraph I would list topics I plan on writing about. Just so you know and hopefully keep you interested so you come back! Stay classy and be careful what you say to people. Say one thing and you could loose a friend. Words are powerful. Use them wisely.

In the future! Nail polish, fangirling, and YOLO! What?!

Bracelets :)

I make bracelets. I might have mentioned that in my very first post but I don't know how many of you actually know that. They aren't super fancy. They are really just a bunch of strings tied in a bunch of knots. They are more of friendship bracelet I guess. I make patterns and some with some neat pictures.

Now I shall show you some of them (sorry if the picture aren't the best).

Those are regular pattern friendship bracelets. They are the ones I tend to stick to just because you can memorize the pattern and don't have to have the design with you all the time. It can be harder to find a pattern with exactly what you want especially if it has a TV show theme or something like that.

This is a alpha pattern bracelet. They take longer than the normal pattern friendship bracelet and tend to use more string. You can pretty much make one of these as long as you have a grid picture of what you want. I don't do these ones as much. I want to but once I start making one it tends to take longer and then I go to doing regular pattern ones again.

These are kumihimo bracelets. You need a kumihimo disk (if you want to know what it looks like just search it in Google images) to make these ones. For these I feel like the patterns are can be a lot of the same so I don't make many of those either.

I also make key chains! It tends to be easier to make a key chain with an alpha pattern but a regular pattern would work too. Sometimes with the alpha patterns they are either too short or too long. It's okay if its to short because you can just add more rows. If it's too long...you can't really fix that. Plus they can be rather wide. But they are still worth making because you can just use it as a bookmark. Or if you glue on a magnet to the back of it you can use it as a magnet.

Okay, now I'm going to rant a little bit. A while back I saw one style of bracelets in particular that was being sold in stores (yes, the ones to the right). Then I figured out how to make it. They use a different kind of string but if I had that string I could make the exact same thing. Now I'm seeing regular chevron pattern bracelets being sold. Seriously? That is so lame! You can buy a like nine feet of string for 30 cents and you can make that same bracelet. I don't know why this bugs me so much. It's probably because I know how easy it is to make those. You can make cooler bracelets than what is being sold at the stores and you would probably save money (depending on how large you made your bracelet). You could make two of the bracelets in my first picture for the same bracelet at the store. Okay, this may seem silly to you but it really does bug me. Rant over.

How do I find the patterns and what not? Well I found two websites that have thousands of designs for each style on them (friendship-bracelets.net and braceletbook.com in case you were wondering). They also have tutorials. So if you are bored watching TV you can make bracelets while watching you favorite TV show (that's what I do).

I have made some cooler designs (especially in the alpha pattern) but I gave those to my friends. They are a great way to show your appreciation to your friends.

I hope this was somewhat interesting and gave you an idea of something to do if you are really bored over the summer. Stay classy and don't forget to have fun this summer!

Mosquito Cat

Hello everyone! I'm back from vacation and I'm going to give a quick update about stuff...

In my last post I told you that my cat got injured again. Well we took him to the vet and they shaved his stomach so that that could actually see what happened. Well he ended up having two scratches about 4 inches long. We think it came from a fence...no idea how that happened. So they glued him back together (wow that sounds strange...) and then gave him an antibiotic shot because we were leaving for vacation.

Vacation was a lot of fun. We played a TON of minigolf. On average we played 3 or 4 rounds each day. We were kinda disappointed with the souvenir shops because there weren't really any that we were used to only a bunch of bargain beachwear stores. Oh my goodness. They really like the neon colors. It was awesome! I wanted to buy so many of their tank tops because they were bright and pretty and really soft but they always had a print on it that I didn't want. If they didn't have a print they wanted you to put one on it so I only bought one without a print.

They were small but there were a million.
On the last day we came back we went to a Cyprus Garden. It was really nice and we went on a canoe ride thing in a swamp and that was really cool. We saw lots of alligators too. Once the canoe ride was over we just started walking through the garden. It was nice but it would have been better if I hadn't gotten 25+ mosquito bites in an hour. It was awful. Everywhere itched at the same time and I just wanted to jump into a pool to make it stop. I had a ring of mosquito bites around my thighs right below where my shorts ended. Absolutely ridiculous. I also had six on each of my elbows which I think is one of the worst places to get them.

Hopefully the post next week will be a little more interesting for you. I don't know. Stay classy and don't forget to were bug spray when going into a swamp.

Cat Collar Shopping

This is going to be a random post. After my post last week I think a shorter one would be kinda nice. So this is just some of the news that has happened in my life this past week.

Story #1:
So I saw my cat zonked out (that means sleeping hard core if you didn't know that) on my parents bed. So I went to pet him because he was so cute and I felt like petting him. When I get there I notice that a spot on his chest is lacking of some of his fur. Taking a closer look he has two scratches on his chest.

When I went to pet him he woke up and started licking and licking and licking and licking and licking it. I swear he's licking it SO much. Any way we are taking him to the vet because we want to make sure he's okay and we are leaving for vacation tomorrow.

Cutest fight ever :)
Sigh my stupid cat is once again injured and we think its from our neighbors cat. Not entirely sure but that's our best guess.

Story #2:
I went shopping with my friends expecting to get a boat load of clothes. That was a major fail. I didn't get anything and my friends each got one shirt. Total fail and somewhat disappointing for spending all day shopping.

Story #3:
I had graduation. Yes, I did graduate. Anyway not the point. We had to be at the school super early (and then we didn't do anything for an hour and a half...but that's not the point). With the robes we were supposed to wear all the girls got a collar to tape (the tape was like the tape you get for name tags) onto their robe. Well I forgot mine. Oops. Don't worry! That had extra ones and they helped me put it on (they had duct tape though...much more affective).

I think that's pretty much it for my update. I wanted to keep it somewhat short. Besides that though my friend invited me to help her with another project she is doing. It's this blog called Smiles No Matter :) and I think you should check it out because it is pretty awesome. Plus, you can read about my awkward moments in life (if that is any incentive).

Oh yeah. I'm going on vacation so there probably won't be another post next week. Sorry. Have a classy day and don't forget to keep your cat away from your neighbors cat! Sigh, stupid cat.
