I paint my toenails because I think it makes my feet look gross but recently I have been looking at my toenails and thinking that it is really weird. Why do we think that rainbow colored nails are more attractive? I just don't understand.
How did they make nail polish in the first place? Did they randomly take some paint and put it on their nails? Or did they put wrap their fingers except for their nails and then put their fingers in some dye? Like how the heck did the very first prototype (?) of nail polish come into existence? I don't know. Do you?
Why did they decide that they needed to make it super sticky? It's so hard to get the nail polish off of your fingers when it's so sticky! When I'm trying to get it off my nails because it's pretty much gone it takes way too long! And I'm getting a arm/hand work out while I'm scrubbing it off.
Even though the nail polish is super sticky After one stinking day it chips! What the heck?! Don't do that! After like a week all the nail polish will be gone except for on my pinky finger and thumb. How does that work? I'm not sure.
Waiting for the nail polish to dry is also a very annoying part. It takes soooooo looooonnnngggg! Plus if you do a lot of layers you can rub some of it off. Basically it's not completely dry until like 24 hours later. What the heck! I can't tell you how many time I have painted my nails three hours before I go to bed and then when I wake up the next day I have little patterns from my sheets. So confusing.
Sad but true |
People need to make an easier way to paint nails. I can paint one hand just fine but once I get to the other hand all my hard work fails. It takes forever and looks terrible. With my uncoordination (not a word, I don't care, you get my meaning) with my non-dominate hand and unintentional girly hand movements because of the nail polish on that hand I just end up failing. Does that make sense?
Whenever I do my nails in my room I always have the nail polish remover. By the time I finish my nails my room smells like nail polish remover and stays that way for the next day. Can we please find a scentless nail polish remover?! That would make me extremely happy.
Okay I admit I got into a little bit of a rant and started to ramble. Now for my final point that I actually wanted to make when I started this post. Why do we feel the need to make our normal colored body parts different colors? Tattoos are the same way but that's a whole different topic. Before you know it we are going to be dying our whole bodies different colors! Wait a minute! Maybe that's why the Capitol people in the Hunger Games had different colored bodies. Weird.
Well there is your rant for the day/week. Stay classy and remember that you don't need to make your body different colors to be beautiful! "You are beautiful in every single way!" (That's a song by Christina Aguilera if you didn't know that called "Beautiful"...and I gave credit to the author so you can't get mad at me!) Don't change yourself because others want you to or to fit in.
In the future! The history of Nail polish, YOLO, fangirling, favorite characters! Get excited!
loving the hunger games reference!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by! After I wrote this post I started wondering if in the future we would just start dying our skin different colors.
